Create a New Journal

You can use the code given by your Teacher to create a new journal or create your own exclusive journal.

Create a New Journal

The user begins by clicking on the blue banner that says Please click here to start

A dog or cat avatar will pop up to ask the user questions to start the thinking process.

Title and Location

A pop-up window will ask the user to input a title, the time of day, and the location where they are.

Event Panel

Write about what happened. Sentence stems are provided to help students with their writing. They are optional to use.

Choose the avatar expression and background design for the comic panel.

Feelings Panel

Once the user clicks done for the first panel they will see their image and text appear in the comic. They will then be guided to complete the second panel of the comic which focuses on feelings. Users will write how they feel about the event and then choose the related emotions.

If students are unsure what an emotion is they can click the Emotions Encyclopedia button.

Users can then choose an emotion and watch a video that explains what it is and an example of when that emotion might occur.

Choose the avatar expression and background for panel 2: Emotions. Click done when complete.

Action Panel

Users determine which coping strategy or action is needed to process the event or solve a problem. After they click done they can choose the color and design of the final panel.
